Elena Maberry

Elena Maberry (she/her) is a first year PhD student in Sustainable Development. Elena is interested in the intersection of natural systems and structural injustices, particularly in their effect on environmental vulnerability.

Prior to joining Sustainable Development at Columbia, Elena worked as an associate at Charles River Associates in the Antitrust & Competition practice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Environmental Sciences from Northwestern University. During her studies, she researched the effect of prison privatization on the exposure of incarcerated populations to environmental hazards. In her free time, Elena enjoys painting, travelling, and cooking.
