Personal Details

Marc Jacquand teaches a class on United Nations Risk Management in complex environments (Spring).

Since January 2022, Marc is the Director of Strategy at the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).  He is also serves as an advisor to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and a member of the management board for TrustWorks Global. 

Marc started his career as an analyst with Credit Lyonnais Securities, before spending 5 years working in the field of microfinance, for a Microfinance Institution (FINCA) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). Over the last twenty years, Marc has focused on the planning and coordination of conflict and post conflict responses, serving with UN peace operations in Jerusalem, Libya, Yemen and Somalia, with additional deployments for the UN in Haiti, Burundi and other crisis or post crisis settings. Between 2017 and 2019, he worked in the Executive Office of the Secretary General of the United Nations, with responsibilities for strategic planning and UN reform. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as strategic planning advisor to a range of UN entities, including the Office for Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the Department of Peace Operations (DPO), the Department of Peacebuilding and Political Affairs (DPPA) and the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Amman and Jerusalem. He also served as a research fellow at the International Peace Institute on issues of universal connectivity and with the Dag Hammarskjold Foundation where he advised the Foundation on its UN leadership work.

Marc has an MBA from the HEC School of Management (France) and an MIA from SIPA.
