Faculty Bio

Matthew Rusk is a sustainability and disclosure expert with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations turn sustainability and human rights compliance into clarity, action, positive impact, and competitive advantage. He is currently serving as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Diginex, an award-winning sustainability technology company that provides data-driven, tech-enabled solutions for climate disclosure, sustainability reporting, supply-chain transparency, and worker voice across the Americas.

At Diginex, Matthew leads collaborations in the Americas. Diginex partners with corporates, financial institutions, governments, nonprofits, and standard setters, including work with the United Nations, the U.S. Department of Labor, The Mekong Club, Tech Against Trafficking, the IFRS Alliance, the TISFD Alliance, and GRI. His work bridges global policy developments and practical corporate implementation to help organizations meet emerging sustainability, ESG, and due diligence requirements.

Previously, Matthew served as Head of GRI North America at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI is the independent standard-setter that creates the global common language for impact reporting to foster transparency, organizational accountability, and informed decisions to advance sustainable development in the interest of all. The GRI Standards are the world’s most widely used standards for sustainability reporting and are utilized by 78% of the world’s largest companies, approximately 14,000 organizations, more than 70% of the S&P 500 and Fortune 500, and the majority of the Russell 1000.

Matthew oversaw GRI’s regional strategy, expanded the use of the GRI Standards across organizations of all sizes, and built partnerships across corporate, investor, and policy communities. Earlier in his career, he led sustainability and CSR programs across diverse industries, advancing sustainable best practices in the entertainment sector with Disney, Warner Media, and the Producers Guild of America, and in the fashion and design industry as North America Sustainability Manager for Swarovski.

Matthew is a Fellow of Columbia University’s Sustainable Investment Research Initiative (SIRI) and Adjunct Assistant Professor for the SIRI Practicum Consulting Course. He is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, a LEED Green Associate, and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University and an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business & Technology.
