Ourania Dionysiou is an internationally awarded strategist and executive, distinguished for forging high-value partnerships and architecting scalable systems that redefine how capital, policy and innovation converge to create and deliver impact.

A former diplomat for the Republic of Cyprus and senior leader within the United Nations and international NGO system, she has mobilized more than $5 billion in philanthropic and blended capital, leading the design of global fundraising strategies and teams across more than 45 countries on six continents. She has brokered landmark alliances spanning finance, technology, healthcare, education, climate and humanitarian and refugee affairs.

Over a career approaching two decades across government, the multilateral system, and the private sector, Ourania has combined strategic foresight with operational execution at scale- engineering capital-engagement strategies, building cross-border partnership ecosystems, and translating geopolitical, market, regulatory and cultural complexity into institutional opportunity and transformational growth. Renowned for turning vision into velocity, she helps organizations accelerate growth and results across markets and mandates.

At UNICEF, she spearheaded public and private-sector engagement across the Gulf, increasing revenue sixfold and securing the organization’s largest-ever $200 million education investment. At the International Rescue Committee (IRC), she founded and scaled the organization’s first-ever global philanthropic operations center, tripling revenue in her first year, and launching pioneering partnerships across AI, climate, cryptocurrency, gaming, and ESG philanthropy, including flagship alliances with the LEGO and IKEA Foundations, Bloomberg Philanthropies and leading Fortune 500 companies.

Today, Ourania leads OD Advisory, a global strategy practice, that advises multinationals, family offices, and international institutions on capital architecture, strategic philanthropy, ESG, and responsible innovation, including the ethical integration of AI and emerging technologies into governance and social impact systems.

She works with corporate leaders and foundations to strengthen sustainability and social responsibility portfolios, design partnership and financing frameworks that align product, policy, profit and purpose, and build effective engagement models with the UN system and international financial institutions (IFIs). Through this work, she helps organizations navigate complex multilateral ecosystems, embed purpose as a driver of innovation and growth, and translate global influence into measurable impact and reputational value. Her advisory portfolio includes the World Health Organization, Google, Mercy Corps, the International Telecommunication Union, IPPF, and a network of global philanthropists and investors.

She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of International and Public Affairs, at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where as part of the Capstone program, she teaches on International Financial Institutions (IFIs) strategy, focusing on the World Bank and IMF, translating real-world capital systems experience into applied policy innovation.

Earlier in her career, as a diplomat, she served as the Director of the Press and Information office for Cyprus in Washington D.C. and a senior advisor to the Presidential Palace for the country’s first Presidency of the Council of the EU - experience that refined her instinct for influence, negotiation, and trust-building across stakeholder groups, sectors, cultures and faiths. Educated across Europe, Asia, and the United States, she holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University SAIS, Université Paul-Valéry, and the Ionian University, and is a Rotary Peace Fellow (Chulalongkorn University-Thailand) and Harvard-certified negotiation expert.

A frequent speaker and moderator at global forums, Ourania has received international recognition from the World Bank, the German Marshall Fund, the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the European Commission for her leadership in social impact, strategic philanthropy and global policy. A published theorist and award-winning communicator, her framework on identity and conflict resolution is archived in the U.S. Library of Congress.

Known for her clarity of vision, entrepreneurial discipline of execution and systems-level insight, Ourania combines strategic foresight with practical delivery to translate complexity into measurable results. Her career reflects a consistent commitment to mobilizing capital, influence, and collaboration across sectors and continents to advance inclusive and sustainable progress.
