Rebecca Krisel is a data science content designer, educator, and researcher with a strong commitment to making technical knowledge accessible to diverse audiences. At SIPA, she teaches graduate-level computational text analysis courses, focusing on equipping students with practical skills in Python and data analysis.
In her research, Rebecca applies advanced Natural Language Processing techniques to study online political discourse and social movements. Her work in this area has been instrumental in developing new methods for analyzing large datasets and extracting meaningful insights that inform policy decisions
Rebecca served as a Digital Fellow at the Graduate Center Digital Initiatives at CUNY, where she led a team of technical writers and content creators. She developed over two dozen technical resources and guides on topics ranging from API integrations to performing Named Entity Recognition in Python, helping scholars and researchers enhance their technical skills.
Rebecca is currently a product manager at JPMorgan Chase. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the CUNY Graduate Center, where her research focused on internet-based social movements and public policy. Rebecca also earned a Master of International Affairs from SIPA and a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University.
