Sarah Mathew is a second-year Master of Public Administration candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), specializing in International Security Policy and Diplomacy. She earned her B.A. in International Studies from Cedarville University, focusing on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
While at Columbia, Sarah was awarded the opportunity to present her policy paper on women in security at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. She serves as General Secretary of SIPA’s Student Association, is a SIPA Admissions Ambassador, and is an Institute of Global Politics Student Scholar. She also works with a Raleigh based NGO, Invisible Girl Project, a human rights nonprofit combating female gendercide in India. She leads storytelling and social media initiatives that bring to light the experiences of girls and families affected by systemic discrimination.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her husband, discovering hidden gems around New York City, reading, catching up with friends over coffee, and taking walks in the city's beautiful parks.
