Vato Peradze ’26 is a Master of International Affairs candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, concentrating in Economic and Political Development with a specialization in International Organizations and United Nations Studies. He previously earned a Master’s degree in International Relations, specializing in Geopolitics and Diplomacy from IE University in Madrid.

Vato brings a strong background in multilateral diplomacy, global governance, and development policy. He has served as an Advisor at the Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations, where he supported preparations for the UN General Assembly, drafted policy materials, and reported on high-level meetings. His professional experience also includes research roles with UNDP, UN-Habitat, and the United Nations System Staff College, where he worked on projects ranging from voter participation and depopulation in Europe to the role of academia in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

Earlier in his career, Vato served as Young Ambassador of Georgia to Spain, promoting Georgia’s culture, history, and tourism potential through public diplomacy initiatives.

Fluent in English, Georgian, Russian, and conversational Spanish, Vato is passionate about international security, development, and diplomacy. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys exploring new cities, engaging in cultural diplomacy projects, and connecting with people from around the world. He looks forward to sharing his SIPA journey and experiences with prospective students.
