Chengxi Jiang MPA ’23 has been selected as a Schwarzman Scholar, joining an elite cohort of future leaders who will pursue a one-year master's degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The scholarship, established by Blackstone Group Chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman, develops leaders capable of navigating the geopolitical landscape and building greater understanding between China and the world.

Currently a Global Chemicals Equity Research Associate at Jefferies in New York, Jiang explores the intersection of industrial policy and emerging technologies. She previously held positions at Goldman Sachs and Xinhua News Agency. As a Schwarzman Scholar, she plans to focus on driving innovation-led growth in traditional industries through research, capital coordination, and increased transparency.

Originally from China's industrial heartland, Jiang is committed to supporting underprivileged communities, and has served in leadership roles with nonprofits including Learning Enterprises, the Red Cross, and A Better Community. At SIPA, she concentrated in communications, international finance policy, and data analytics. She also holds a degree from Nanjing University.

The Schwarzman Scholars program selects just 200 scholars annually from thousands of applicants worldwide, providing full funding for graduate study and unique access to China's business, political, and cultural leaders.
