The mission of the World Bank is a world free of poverty. Specifically for the Financial Sector and Private Sector Development sector the aim is to assist our clients to reduce poverty on a sustainable basis through growth led by the development of their private and financial sectors.
The Capstone project, examined the regulatory environment for the non-banking financial sector in Croatia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. The team considered in particular the insurance, pension, venture capital and private equity, leasing, and factoring sectors of each country. The students investigated the legal framework within which the NBFI operates and offer ideas for policy actions. The project’s findings was presented in a fifty-page report to Isfandyar Khan, who oversees financial and private sector development in Europe and Central Asia for the World Bank. The World Bank used the report in their upcoming assessment of the three countries.
