Semester
Spring 2008
Final Report
Sauti Yetu Center For African Women is a non-profit organization based in New York City that empowers immigrant African women and girls to articulate, demand and exercise their human rights. Having noted the numerous entrepreneurs among African immigrant women in New York City, Sauti Yetu was interested in learning more about the experiences and needs of this segment of their constituency. The objective of the workshop was to assess immigrant African women’s entrepreneurship and determine the extent of their needs with respect to resources, services and support-systems. The methodology for this assessment included an extensive review of literature and demographics and stakeholder interviews.
