Civil Society Oversight of Security Sector Reform in Honduras
Alianza por la Paz y Justicia (APJ) is an evolving model for civil society participation in security and justice policy reform. It provides space for different types of non-profit organizations, catholic and evangelic churches including the Honduran University to promote public dialogue about security issues in Honduras. APJ also works closely with the Honduran government to advance solutions that could address these problems. The SIPA team partnered with Transparency International to study whether APJ's model is an effective model in advancing justice and security reform in Honduras and provided recommendations on how to address its internal and external challenges.
