Creating a Training-to-Practice Measurement System and Toolkit for FHI Ethiopia
Family Health International (FHI) has been working in Ethiopia to improve the public sector response to a range of critical public health issues for more than a decade. FHI has partnered with the government of Ethiopia and other NGOs with the goal of strengthenning the country health infrastructure to ensure sustainable development. To achieve its goal, FHI implements training programs for a range of health care providers within Ethiopia's healthcare system. FHI has a robust monitoring and evaluation department engaged in each training the organization conducts. SIPA team was asked to develop a training-to-practice measurement system and tools to monitor and evaluate the extent to which knowledge and skills transferred through training are applied in practice when the trainees return to their work setting.
