Cash Based Interventions (CBI) are a social protection tool for refugees, enabling vulnerable populations to afford basic necessities of life in the host country. This report focuses on the CBI efforts of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan and Lebanon, specifically for Syrian refugees. The Workshop team was tasked to analyze data pertaining to this, and provide recommendations for an interactive web dashboard to further UNHCR's data dissemination efforts. Moreover, the team was also asked to conduct a comparative analysis on the CBI programs in Jordan and Lebanon. The Workshop team conducted several stakeholder interviews to understand the needs relating to the web dashboard. The team also conducted an in-depth exploratory analysis of cash assistance data vis-a-vis beneficiary demographics. After identifying relevant information, the team designed and developed a prototype version of the dashboard for the client. Additionally, the team conducted a rigorous country analysis, concentrating primarily on the Vulnerability Assessment Framework in Jordan (VAF) and Vulnerability Assessment of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon (VASyR), two datasets that assess vulnerability levels of refugee households to assist in targeting and prioritizing refugees. This involved identifying and analyzing the differences between beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of CBIs, as well as the refugee contexts in Jordan and Lebanon.
