Spring 2021

A team of five graduate SIPA students partnered with the social impact consulting firm, MarketShare Associates (MSA) to develop a gender training program targeted towards MSA’s private sector business partners in Uganda. The training was designed to highlight the business case for engaging women as customers, suppliers and workers into the agri-value chain. The project was conducted in four phases, with the first two phases of the project informing the rationale for the training content and format. First, the team conducted a three-part literature review. Second, the team interviewed twelve relevant stakeholders and experts. Based on the literature review and interview results, the team developed a conceptual framework to guide the training design. The third phase included the creation of a training prototype, and the last phase incorporated client and faculty feedback which resulted in the development of the final training package.
