Devising a Scaling Strategy for UNDP's Sixty Accelerator Labs
The Accelerator Labs were established by UNDP to accelerate progress towards achieving the SDGs and to become the world’s largest and fastest learning network focused on innovative solutions to development challenges. This Workshop Project supports the Labs in their efforts to enable scaling of social innovation for development through delivering a scaling strategy report with a hands-on toolkit tailored to the Accelerator Labs’ contexts. This report was developed based on a comprehensive methodology with extensive primary and secondary data collection (interviews, focus groups, a survey, and literature review). Through a collaborative approach, the SIPA Team was able to actively engage 46 of 60 existing Labs worldwide, as well as key stakeholders. Shaped by the themes of Envisioning Scale, Supportive Ecosystem for Scaling, Resources for Scaling and Learning from Scaling, recommendations, guiding questions and stories from the Labs’ realities are offered to facilitate the development of context-specific scaling strategies at country/regional level. Two articles published through the UNDP Accelerator Labs Medium page provide deeper insights on the project here and here (coming soon).
