Emergence of a New Asset Class: Emerging Markets Fixed Income Local Currency Debt

The Investment Strategy and Advisory Group (ISAG) of Credit Suisse PB Americas has the mandate to implement the strategic asset allocation for private banking clients in the Americas. In the scope of this mandate the group publishes frequently market commentary and articles on investment themes and trends.

Emerging market (EM) local debt issuance has increased steadily over the past decade. Increasing issuance of local currency EM debt and the integration of the EMs into global capital market has transformative effect on local economies and allocating capital.

The objective of the project is to produce a comprehensive study that analyzes the build out of EM debt as an asset class.
