Engaging The Future of Colombia's Youth

Semester

Spring 2015

Fundación Carvajal is a non-profit organization based in Cali, Colombia, where it serves to improve the quality of life of impoverished communities through projects on poverty alleviation and socio-economic development. The aims of this project were to understand how at-risk youth interact with society and to implement the changes necessary to improve their quality of life. The team's recommendations were threefold. First, the team recommended that “structured flexibility” be incorporated in its approach to developing new programs. Second, the team suggested to include ideas for enhancing the pre-existing programs that Fundación Carvajal currently employs. Finally, the team provided a list of new programs for possible future implementation.
