The Capstone team was tasked to conduct rigorous strategic and operational analyses of the Human Service Workshop (HSW) Program within Good Shepherd Services (GSS). Over the past four months the team reviewed numerous documents and reports; interviewed GSS staff and other social service training providers; conducted outside research; met with IT professionals; and analyzed our findings in order to present actionable recommendations to improve HSW’s operational and strategic efficiency. The final report focuses on seven key areas of HSW operations that were identified as potential areas for improvement. 

The team's research revealed operational complexities and inefficiencies that are limiting for HSW. To mitigate the risk of relying only on the knowledge and expertise of current staff, the team endeavored to document the program processes and procedures as they exist today. The team also identified several operational improvements. The final report includes a proposed future Process Flow description, which assumes that the recommendations listed in this report are adopted. Diagrams of both current and proposed future Process Flows are included in the Appendix.
