Established in 1974, Bhagini Nivedita Sakahari Bank is a leading cooperative bank in Pune, India which aims to empower low-income communities in the Pune region by providing them with access to financial services. The SIPA team was asked to evaluate the bank’s relevance, effectiveness and impact of increasing financial access to the traditionally excluded sectors of the population, and to measure the effect on the lives of these individuals.
