Long-Term Price Stability Comparing Renewable vs. Conventional Energy

Energias de Portugal (EDP) has tasked a Capstone team to analyse the current investment climate, including volatile energy markets, uncertain political outlook in several countries, and swiftly evolving technologies. With these challenges in mind, EDP requested that the SIPA team examine select markets and identify the primary drivers of volatility, and provide EDP with an in-depth analysis of these markets to better assist the company in its decision-making process as it seeks to expand its electrical generation capacity. As such, the framework allows an analysis of the impact of price volatility and the difficulties surrounding long-term energy planning on the economy, companies and consumers.
