Microenterprise Support for the Millennium Villages Project

The overall sustainability of the Millennium Villages (MVs) and its target of achieving the eight Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) in the Millennium Villages Project (MVP) requires the economic empowerment of the local rural population. This can be done by creating an enabling environment for microenterprises, by providing the MV’s communities with the resources necessary to meet their needs on their own, and to strengthen their technical abilities to improve their livelihood. The objective of the workshop was to provide recommendations for a successful microenterprise support system for the MVP in Sauri, Kenya.
