World Food Programme Centre d’Excellence Régional contre la Faim et la Malnutrition (CERFAM) is a platform for knowledge exchange, partnership, and cooperation, which supports governments to advance cumulative efforts that will ultimately achieve Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). In spring 2021, a team of five graduate SIPA students collaborated with CERFAM to develop a framework to advance resilience initiatives in Africa. Key informant interviews from multilateral organizations, national governments, non-governmental organizations, and local authorities, allowed the team to uncover ten good practices, identify lessons learned and enabling conditions, and create a framework that will enable governments to map their resilience initiatives and goals and thereby identify gaps that exist given the four stages of resilience.
