Roadmap to Recovery: Mapping HIV/AIDS and Gender Based Violence Programming in Liberia

Advisor

Semester

Spring 2005

Liberia’s health system cannot currently support the needs of the country’s population of approximately three million. Instead, International NGOs, local groups, and the UN system, including UNFPA, provide the only services available. Consequently, Liberians suffer from a severe shortage of programs that respond to HIV/AIDS, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and general reproductive health (RH) needs. The objective of the workshop was to map the success of UNFPA’s existing and future projects and to encourage further research to assess and improve the reproductive health of the Liberian people.
