SMEs & Trade: The Business Case for Financial Institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean

This project seeks to understand the barriers for SMEs in Latin America to access trade finance. The Capstone team's research and recommendations allowed the client, the Structured and Corporate Finance Department of the Inter-American Development Bank, to better understand the causes behind the trade finance gap for SMEs and thus improve the implementation of their programs and provide better technical assistance to their clients in the region (mainly financial institutions).
