Strategic Interventions to Transform Cali's Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

Semester

Spring 2020

The Cali Chamber of Commerce (CCC)  serves as the agency for business and productive development for Colombia's third largest metropolitan area - the city of Cali and its surroundings. The CCC seeks to make Cali an entrepreneurial hub by increasing the city’s high-impact innovation sector and encouraging more entrepreneurs to start their businesses in Cali. The Chamber requested a team from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs to conduct research and design strategic initiatives that could be implemented to enhance the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Based on research and interview findings, the SIPA team proposed three strategic interventions that can help the CCC achieve its 'spirit of entrepreneurship' mission. In addition to these strategic interventions, the team outlined other recommendations that can enhance entrepreneurship in Cali. These interventions and recommendations are detailed in the SIPA team's final report.
