Strengthening ADEW's Capacity to Promote Women's Empowerment in Egypt

ADEW has recognized the importance of empowering women and it has emerged as both an influential grassroots organization and a leading advocate for women’s rights in Egypt. In addition to its credit programs, ADEW offers literacy programs, health services, legal awareness seminars, legal assistance, and shelter for victims of domestic violence. The objective of the workshop was to review ADEW’s Domestic Violence Program and make recommendations for strengthening and expanding the services offered and for developing an advocacy campaign on violence against women in Egypt. The team conducted a broad review of the organization, assessed how ADEW promotes its identity and services to donors, and generated recommendations.
