In an increasingly fragmented “G-Zero” world, where no single power provides global leadership, states are turning to weaponized interdependence as a strategic tool. Economic, financial, and digital networks that once underpinned globalization have become instruments of coercion, with nations leveraging control over critical nodes such as payment systems, semiconductor supply chains, and data infrastructure. The Eurasia Group Capstone will examine how these interdependencies among major powers—the U.S., EU, China, Russia, and India—create both vulnerabilities and opportunities for influence in a world defined by competition, not cooperation. By integrating political, economic, and technological analysis, the project will offer Eurasia Group actionable insights into how geoeconomic power operates in a multipolar world and what strategies governments and businesses can adopt to navigate, mitigate, or exploit these emerging interdependencies in the decades ahead.
