International Security and Diplomacy

The International Security and Diplomacy (ISD) Concentration provides students with the conceptual foundations and practical policy tools to manage international conflicts, reduce the incidence of war and armed conflict, preserve important national interests and values, and promote cooperation in the international system. Students learn the theory and practice of defense policy, diplomacy, intelligence, conflict management, military strategy, cybersecurity, counterterrorism, peacekeeping and peacebuilding, crisis mediation, sanctions and economic statecraft, multilateral cooperation, and related issues.

Who It’s For

The ISD Concentration is suited for students of any educational background interested in war, peace, diplomacy, and statecraft. The concentration has no prerequisites.
