MIA/MPA Frequently Asked Questions

MIA/MPA

  • Yes. To switch programs, you would need to apply to the new program via a streamlined process. Contact Admissions for details. It is possible to change concentrations as long as you satisfy the requirements.

  • All students are required to register full-time as many required courses are only offered during the day.

  • Yes. Many of our students take courses at other Columbia Schools. For more information, please consult the SIPA Bulletin.

  • Course exemptions are only granted to students who obtain advanced standing based on previous graduate level academic work or pass a proficiency test.
